I am fully exploring the look and feel of this new Hearts. Simple in shape, bright in contemporary colors, big and small, with medium in between and a couple of more style options....I am telling you, you can find your Hearts in this collection! It's golden summer colors for these hot summer nights and days, and here is something to take along with you.
Despite the heat, these Hearts are very cool (and very light) to wear! I had to start my day right this morning and wanted to post this shot of me wearing some of my latest new work: Big Hearts Earrings in black silver and a long black Simple Heart Pendant to match. It's already hot early in the morning, so I am showing them off on a faded green top that has seen deeper colors...but you get the picture.
Check all the different sizes and colors available in the free forms jewelry collection and let me keep you posted on new work, join my collector circle to be the first to know! The new Heart Pendants are off the bench! There are 3 sizes, under the name of the Big Heart Pendant - the large size, the Simple Heart Pendant - the medium size, and the Sweet Heart Pendant - the smallest of them all. They all come in 4 bright finishes, on a matte black cable chain with an easy toggle and bar clasp, and in 2 lengths. I have been wanting to add some pendants to my free forms jewelry collection I started last year and am very excited to finally have them online in my store!
Check them out and join my collector circle so you don't miss a beat. I think of Hearts....seriously. How else could you respond to all the rough times life, the world of people, politics, the personal, the political? I am quick at shape associations, a word for a gesture, a feeling or just simply a tool, to aid on the path, of everything, to everything. And then I think of 'walking sticks', everyday tools that help the going along the way, like these simple little pleasures...in vibrant colors for every mood.
So here we go, this is me in the studio, playing model with my Swinging Coil Earrings! No frills. But those earrings are so light and fun to wear and I just keep them on these days, as I churn a few more and snap shots...
This IS a rare peek into my studio and surroundings, and I am sharing it here today, sooo... months of uncertainties have been piling up, we do not know what is happening next. bring my thoughts back to my work, the bench, what needs to be done, slices earrings, in progress. and after a few days, got a bunch to shoot, tedious work of quite a few hours... and then, they are ready to go!
it has been quite a busy ride this year in my studio, and time to design and put out new work has been challenged by restrictive factors. nonetheless, i am itching to release some of the new pieces I have been working on and here below i am giving you a hint of the process for the new circle earrings. these earrings are some of the fresh addition for the new slices collection i have launched earlier this year and sparked by the enormous success of the first big square slice earrings i have been churning out non-stop since january. both the circles and the square are currently available in 2 different sizes and colors, a black brass and a yellow brass finish..
they are simply super light and super fun to wear! the slices are coming! I have been playing around with strips of brass and came up with some simple but pretty striking square earrings.: the big square slices are 'simple geometry with dramatic proportions' (they are 2" squares), extremely lightweight to wear making a very distinctive statement....dare a little! Since the beginning of the year these new earrings have been best sellers the minute I released them out to the world. many people have also been asking about a smaller version of these bold earrings, and so.... introducing below the slightly smaller version of the squares, still big enough for a decisive impact, but taking a bit of the 'big' edge off in a 1.75" square. from the early feedback i am receiving it seems that these are the perfect choice for someone who wants to be brave and fearless at the same time, but in a just a smaller scale. as the bigger version, they come in black brass and in yellow brass.
a few weeks ago i was in a desperate need for silver... so went looking for it. after rummaging for a while through old boxes, patiently awaiting review after the last studio move, i found a few old experimental cast pieces, tucked away in a small pouch. one of them, was untitled, a very tactile piece. it had a good weight to it. i had cast it decades ago, gifted it to my then 99 year old grandmother and gotten it back when she passed, a few years later. the sign was clear: time for some much needed transmutation! after due and proper ceremonies, here is what happened to 55 grams of untitled cast fine silver: ...and into these circle and stick pendants below! a long stick and a circle pendant in brushed silver and a short stick one in black!
transmutation complete. (plus left overs)
also, now available in 2 lengths, with a choice of a 36" or a 42" black waxed cotton cord, depending on how you play with the sliders, you can go from a chocker bolo-style pendant to a long grazing elegant look. and last but not least: the fun + function of it all! still looking for those glasses? now you can pair up a few things and have a colorful and stylish eyeglasses pendant for an everyday companion. and, in case you were wondering, the stick pendants work just as well, and with a touch of different....
