I can't even remember how long the twisted+wires jewelry collection has been around...let's say, a couple of decades? It started as joyful playtime with copper, brass and silver wires long ago, and it kept going strong, all these years. After all the recent swirling changes and curved balls of life hitting the ground, I made a very resisted decision to retire this jewelry line from retail sales. It is, after all, time to let it rest. All I can now say is: don't miss it! (grin) Try and play and dare a bit!
We made it to the end of another year, dense, intense, complicated, so stressful at times... So now we play: lots of fun with these Play Rings! I sat at the bench for a few hours this week and made a ring. Nothing fancy, just experiments in simple designs to add to my twisted and wires collection, but I did lose myself in all the possibilities, making rings has always been one of my favorite pieces to make. And then lost myself even further when I got a picture of this ring below, and and couldn't resist a little dip into memory lane... This ring is long gone. A dear collector from Arizona took it home with her years ago...
As far as the new experiments in simple ring-making, stay tuned! cold is here. as a matter of fact there is a foot of snow blanketing my jeep outside. everything is blinding white. it's time to stock up on a few basic things, firewood, thick rolled oats, beans of course. then there are the other basics, simple daily pleasures to walk along with you in the day. and to keep the fire going... so, stocking up on things like these coil rings, in the golden vermeil, finger rings, scarf sliders... or in simple black and brushed silver, quite minimal to fit right under those warm winter gloves!
the Riding the crazy waves of current times, keeping busy in the studio, playing to keep busy, to keep the thoughts of 'what next?' at bay. These are the Play Rings, the two left of a series of three of one of a kind work of some while ago. The middle one in the picture below - Play Ring with Ball, lives in somewhere in arizona now. The other two are hanging in there, telling each other stories in the tray of the work-to-refreshed. after so much travel, these rings are currently in their refreshing mode...but stay tuned, will post here again when they are back for grabs!

Here I jot down thoughts and notes and pictures of work in the making, both in my mind, on paper and on the bench. for bench updates and exclusive previews... archives
