Stained Brooches: initial series from decades ago, stains and marks on silver, brass and copper. some of these sold at jeweler's werk galerie/dc, but I can't remember when. Stained Brooches: all these pieces were very limited production, made just 4 of these, similar but all different, signed and dated on the back. This is a flat donut shape in stained silver. I know the w(h)earabouts of 2 of them, and I traded 1 for a beautiful dark red coat full of cut-out circles once with a fellow exhibitor at an American Craft Council Show in Baltimore. One of the recent experiments, the Black+White Graffiti Jewelry line, is one-of-a-kind collection of 8 unique pieces, earrings and a couple of pendants. Now my hands are itching.
I am playing around with initial tests on paper for a new series... I cannot wait to put it all down on metal! I had to start my day right this morning and wanted to post this shot of me wearing some of my latest new work: Big Hearts Earrings in black silver and a long black Simple Heart Pendant to match. It's already hot early in the morning, so I am showing them off on a faded green top that has seen deeper colors...but you get the picture.
Check all the different sizes and colors available in the free forms jewelry collection and let me keep you posted on new work, join my collector circle to be the first to know! Have been working on some new pendants to add to my Free Form Jewelry collection and experimenting with different chains...many possibilities, but trying to pin down the best one! I think I like this second chain, and in the meantime have soldered 4 different heart elements, ready for the finishing process.
Planning on having 3 sizes available next week....jump into my circle for first dibs! I can't even remember how long the twisted+wires jewelry collection has been around...let's say, a couple of decades? It started as joyful playtime with copper, brass and silver wires long ago, and it kept going strong, all these years. After all the recent swirling changes and curved balls of life hitting the ground, I made a very resisted decision to retire this jewelry line from retail sales. It is, after all, time to let it rest. All I can now say is: don't miss it! (grin) So here we go, this is me in the studio, playing model with my Swinging Coil Earrings! No frills. But those earrings are so light and fun to wear and I just keep them on these days, as I churn a few more and snap shots...
This IS a rare peek into my studio and surroundings, and I am sharing it here today, sooo... Not much into hearts, but have made a few in the years past. Looking into my slide folders (remember those?), I just re-discovered a full selection of them, earrings and pins and pendant and necklaces...Played around a bit with a cheap slide scanning app on my phone and here's a couple of shots, all sold long ago. And then there is this one, possibly the most precious of them all. Sister to the copper one above and the only one left from my hearts experiments, this is a stunning necklace with strong impact. It has a heart pierced in sterling silver, it has that bite in warm yellow 18k gold to accentuate the piece with memory, and it all hangs from a sterling silver snake chain, with a sterling silver toggle&bar clasp for no-fuss wearing.
Showing off your unique style continues this month with this coiled fun on the lapel of your winter coat. Or a hat. Either way, you are sure to impress! Gotta say thees are really fun to wear, they are sculptural, big and light to sport on a coat, a warm thick scarf, or a cozy hat! A bold jewelry statement for these current twisted times, pick yours on my online store, various finishes available. Don't skip a beat, as always...
October is the month to hold on to your hats! These minimal and colorful pins are perfect for the job! You can pin one or two on a scarf, a hat, play with different sizes (you can choose from 2), and have fun this month! Head to my online store to see them all!
Went up the mountains the other day for a walk, hiking over ridges and under huge sunburned rocks, wind twirling through cottonwood falling leaves, stark simplicity and in tune with the turquoise sky. A Bar Neckwire for Fall, conveying essence in simple lines of color. These are very simple and minimal necklaces on a sterling silver cable, a perfect colorful pairing to a changing season, and an optimal piece of jewelry that impresses even on a winter and fall outfit.
See all the available color options on my online store! I sat at the bench for a few hours this week and made a ring. Nothing fancy, just experiments in simple designs to add to my twisted and wires collection, but I did lose myself in all the possibilities, making rings has always been one of my favorite pieces to make. And then lost myself even further when I got a picture of this ring below, and and couldn't resist a little dip into memory lane... This ring is long gone. A dear collector from Arizona took it home with her years ago...
As far as the new experiments in simple ring-making, stay tuned! |
