These earrings had been sitting on my bench 'almost finished but not quite' for some time, they did not need much, a final dipping, that protective coat of sealant and the french earwires. Then there was taking pictures, throwing out a lot of bad ones and finally posting everything online...so, proud to announce: here they are! I call them the matchsticks because they remind of spent matches and are all from recycled yellow brass, sticks and pieces laying around in the studio.
The come in 2 lengths, some are a warm lemom-yellow finish throughout, some are all black brass, some are bi-color, or dipped. They are just a handful, a limited production of simple pieces. Nothing out of the ordinary, but special simple. I am fully exploring the look and feel of this new Hearts. Simple in shape, bright in contemporary colors, big and small, with medium in between and a couple of more style options....I am telling you, you can find your Hearts in this collection! It's golden summer colors for these hot summer nights and days, and here is something to take along with you.
Despite the heat, these Hearts are very cool (and very light) to wear! Have been working on some new pendants to add to my Free Form Jewelry collection and experimenting with different chains...many possibilities, but trying to pin down the best one! I think I like this second chain, and in the meantime have soldered 4 different heart elements, ready for the finishing process.
Planning on having 3 sizes available next week....jump into my circle for first dibs! This necklace went home last week, just around the corner.. This necklace keeps talking, in a constant dialog with itself. above, some notes and thoughts, at the time.
now someone else will be listening... enjoy! I can't even remember how long the twisted+wires jewelry collection has been around...let's say, a couple of decades? It started as joyful playtime with copper, brass and silver wires long ago, and it kept going strong, all these years. After all the recent swirling changes and curved balls of life hitting the ground, I made a very resisted decision to retire this jewelry line from retail sales. It is, after all, time to let it rest. All I can now say is: don't miss it! (grin) I think of Hearts....seriously. How else could you respond to all the rough times life, the world of people, politics, the personal, the political? I am quick at shape associations, a word for a gesture, a feeling or just simply a tool, to aid on the path, of everything, to everything. And then I think of 'walking sticks', everyday tools that help the going along the way, like these simple little pleasures...in vibrant colors for every mood.
I am obsessed now. So cannot resist to let you in in another quick peek into my studio doings... More Hearts coming...in vibrant colors to warm yours!
