these earrings are simply perfect for a simple and yet a statement-like style.

i rarely wear earrings (but sure like to make them!), but these... these have been captivating, yes, even for myself!
so there you have it, sporting my new daring rectangles.
super lightweight, eclectically versatile, colorful, fun, fun to wear.... what else can you ask of a joyful, contemporary pair of earrings?!

into spring and looking ahead.
lots of work on the bench and the new slices collection is steadily growing.
the big squares have been selling out right from the beginning of the year and I recently added a slighter smaller size to satisfy the milder version of 'big'...

this week will be adding a new style to the line, here in preview...circles!

simple sequence of events in playing mode and so these new earrings came to life.
they go well together with the squares and make a perfect mis-match pair for a daring and stylish earring statement.

the slices are coming!
I have been playing around with strips of brass and came up with some simple but pretty striking square earrings.: the big square slices are 'simple geometry with dramatic proportions' (they are 2" squares), extremely lightweight to wear making a very distinctive statement....dare a little!

Since the beginning of the year these new earrings have been best sellers the minute I released them out to the world. many people have also been asking about a smaller version of these bold earrings, and so.... introducing below the slightly smaller version of the squares, still big enough for a decisive impact, but taking a bit of the 'big' edge off in a 1.75" square.

from the early feedback i am receiving it seems that these are the perfect choice for someone who wants to be brave and fearless at the same time, but in a just a smaller scale. as the bigger version, they come in black brass and in yellow brass.

a couple of weeks ago while looking for silver to melt, i found more treasures!
a few pieces of experimental work and 'studies' in sterling silver and 18K gold from way way back.

bit is one of 3 pendants i pulled out from that re-discovered pouch and refreshed by sliding it onto a simple black cotton cord, complete with 2 tube sliders to match for easy adjustment of length and pendant style.

and, going through my note books, also found  the scribble i wrote at that time, apparently documenting the process along with the frustrations...!

it reads in my notes it was 'study 5' then...
yep, 1988 folks.

renamed it bit this time, for some reason it sounded better this time.

among the pieces in straight 18K gold are these earrings below, in quick pre-view

so excited to rediscover these pieces of my past-making!
so,
as a summer round-up, i decided to put together a black+gold collection studio sale and have been working on the final touches for the sale launch on august 24!

and, if you are in town on sunday/august 26, i am having my last august studio visit weekend so plan to swing by for a chance to see everything up close and experience it in touch.

a few weeks ago i was in a desperate need for silver... so went looking for it.
after rummaging for a while through old boxes, patiently awaiting review after the last studio move, i found a few old experimental cast pieces, tucked away in a small pouch.

one of them, was untitled, a very tactile piece.
it had a good weight to it.

i had cast it decades ago, gifted it to my then 99 year old grandmother and gotten it back when she passed, a few years later.

the sign was clear: time for some much needed transmutation!
after due and proper ceremonies, here is what happened to 55 grams of untitled cast fine silver:

so it looks like summer is on a roll again, heat waves, sunshine and sudden storms....and amidst rain-longings and desert openness, here comes some new work, ready to roll along, with it, in simplicity.
starting with bright summer colors, a new addition to the twisted and wires line is just about ready to go, official launching happening next week, and cannot wait!

in the meantime, a quick shot from the first batch of the NEW summer pendants in copper and brass finishes, complete with sliders to match and adjust to desired length on the black cotton cord.

NEW summer pendants: circle and sticks in copper and brass finishes

adding to the bunch the brushed silver today - makes me think of full moons on summer nights...or simple blacks and whites.

as for the black on black....been experimenting with 'shades of black', black copper, black brass. on silver is still the blackest. but again, still playing with it.... stay tuned.
one thing is for sure: it will be black

it's windy around here this early spring. today actually it feels like winter...deep deep blue skies and chilly chilly air. but get ready, because the breeze is fading and it's time to let the spring sun touch your skin...
spring coming made me think of the dangling coil earrings, funky swirls of color to wear for springtime.
these coil rings are always in season and in style. and forever popular...could not leave them out this spring!
dare to look dramatically funky this spring!
and definitely different...the coil arm-piece goes out in style with you!
and, coil and spiral earrings and a spiral necklace to complete this spring collection.
so many possibilities.
twists, turns and springy wires....happy springtime!

Pulled these out a little while ago, early experimentations for the twisted&wires collection.

Just and only four of them, two in copper and two in brass. Decided to slide them onto a simple black rubber cord (or two) for easy wear and a funky contemporary look...
These pendants can be worn in a short or long style.

But really, got new things coming out, keeping to simple shapes, see where that goes..

Could not resist to share a quick preview in the raw, and behind the scenes:
the soon-to-be new pendants to join the twisted&wires collection.

Here, to the left, in a preliminary stage of finishing...hanging from their strings in the anticipated sense of weightless depth...can't wait to see the color combinations!

A hectic pace picked up speed early this month, after adjustments to delayed work schedules and repositionings of trays with work in progress at the bench, I am finally churning some new stuff:
new earrings for the metal feathers collection!

pre-assembled a couple of pairs of the metal feathers earrings, two in sterling silver and copper, one just in sterling silver... a 'hand scratch-finish' comes next for all the feathers, add then touches of color to ruffle them up!

Hi, welcome to my jewelry blog!

I make simple, colorful and bold jewelry for a contemporary ageless and fun style.
Have been doing this for quite sometime...pretty sure this is what I want to do when I grow up!

Here I jot down thoughts and notes and pictures of work in the making, both in my mind, on paper and on the bench.

for bench updates and exclusive previews...
