Recycling is in progress on the bench: these are the first two pairs of new earrings I am looking forward to add to my Slices collection this Spring.
These are leftover thin sticks bits and pieces from my cutting of squares and circles out of thick yellow brass...
I wasn't quite sure at first if I should let them stand alone as a mini series or whether I should add them to an existing line...well, of course they belong to the Slices collection!
They match the colors, and the simple, striking vibe.

Pulled out this soliloquy pendant out of my archives this week and spent some time revisiting old work....always and still inspiring.
This is a one-of-a-kind piece from a series of 3 statement pendants of earlier years.

one of the many good things that have come to life during and despite this troubled year, is a local artists collective that sprang into action in response to the covid19 pandemic, offering a supportive net for fellow artists and makers.
had been following them on instagram @artico.20 since the start but did not readily envisioned being one day featured on their feed!

A quick shot of the current affairs of my bench... with some thoughts going to adding to these earrings already out there.
Been working on expanding earrings styles and sizes for the Slices collection.
Going smaller and tiny now, just to make sure I catch a broad spectrum of possibilities...
Work bench has been sporadic these past few weeks, I have been mostly glued to the computer for 'office work' and longer than I would wish on anyone.
Distractions are many, just sticking to my tools here.

Single or in colorful combinations, the time for the Stick Pendants is now.
As with all of my work and in trying to keep things as simple a possible - especially in these difficult times, cannot not point out these simple pendants this week.
Each pendant comes on either a 36 inch or a 42 inch black cotton cord, play with the two sliders on the cord to adjust into various lengths and styles for personal preferences.

They also have a nice feel to them, a good comforting weight anchoring down the task at hand of the daily. Adjust the feel to your personal liking.
They are intriguing just one-on-one. Even more so in twos...

After a long long hiatus, one of these gaps in time that never seem to reconcile, this week I have been rejoicing in stocking up on some vermeil again, like the best-seller classic Hoops below.
For the super minimal, the black and white option, super classic in style, perfect match for simplicity.
And copper, and brass, colors of autumn or for an end of season.
There you go... got Hoops?

cold is here.
as a matter of fact there is a foot of snow blanketing my jeep outside. everything is blinding white.
it's time to stock up on a few basic things, firewood, thick rolled oats, beans of course.
then there are the other basics, simple daily pleasures to walk along with you in the day.
and to keep the fire going...
so, stocking up on things like these coil rings, in the golden vermeil, finger rings, scarf sliders...

or in simple black and brushed silver, quite minimal to fit right under those warm winter gloves!

today I thought I'd share a few things about me, a rare glimpse into my world behind the scenes...
So, Who Am I?
Existential questions aside and to start somewhere, here is a recent picture of me in pensive mode, pondering on a shot for a slices collection photoshoot.
So, Who Am I?
Existential questions aside and to start somewhere, here is a recent picture of me in pensive mode, pondering on a shot for a slices collection photoshoot.
putting my thoughts together this morning I realized there could be much to say...but for now pinning down a few things, somewhat randomly popped to mind, but pretty important:
- I am an animal lover. since forever. like forever.
I feel affinity with dogs, coyotes, wolves, foxes, dingos and bears...
a stuffed bear was given to me by my mother when I was 1 and we never departed.
Kara my black dog companion is currently with me, I love dogs, I cannot live without them.
- a red jeep was a surprise gift from a fellow jeweler at a show in Baltimore, several years ago.
He just walked up to me in the aisle in front of my booth and asked if I could pick up his truck parked at the Albuquerque airport for him, he had just bought a brand new red pickup in Philadelphia and was driving back west with it. He handed me the keys, and if I liked it, he said, I could just keep it...
red jeep is still my daily wheels, including a little intervention years back with a rebuilt engine.
and for further reading, bouncing you back to a blog post of some while ago, for a quick summary of a few years of recent living...

it was an intense weekend this past one, the jewelry closeout sale came with much anticipation and hit with great impact and cleared out the display table, set up in my studio for visual support!
and then it was time for packaging everything, pile it by the door and pass the safety check by a vigilant assistant...
a batch ready to go. thank you to all who virtually stopped by....thank you for the support!
